To help Bridget and the millions of other children living with type 1 diabetes! No amount is too small to make a difference in the life of a child.
This is Bridget Ury, our Gingerbread Village Youth Ambassador! Bridget is 10 years old and loves soccer, reading, school and playing with her friends! But unlike her friends, she has type 1 diabetes and wears an insulin pump that is attached to her body 24 hours a day. Without insulin, Bridget's life would end in a matter of days. But insulin is not a cure, nor does it prevent the possibility of the disease’s devastating effects, which can include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, amputation, and pregnancy complications.
